From repeatedly freezing my ass off somewhere in the Icelandic countryside, fighting over meeting rooms with other startups at the incubator, pitching this weird Space MMORTS to investors from around the world, to finally shipping Starborne…
Joining Solid Clouds was probably the best decision I’ve made in my adult life. I’m sad my time in Iceland is coming to an end, but these past three and a half years have been a blast. Friends, colleagues, bosses – thank you for making it happen. Bless!
So long, Friends
I thought I’d write a long-ass post when this time would eventually come, but I think that covered my sentiment pretty well. I moved to a really cool country, met some really nice people, and shipped a really dope game.
While I think a change of scenery was definitely in order, I’m gonna miss my apartment for sure – waking up to see the ocean was really something else. But yeah, feel free to drop me a line if you’re curious about moving to Iceland.
My next destination is StarBerry Games, a Berlin based startup currently working on a merge game. It’s way out of my comfort zone, but I’m super excited to finally get my hands dirty on a mobile game project.
It’s going to be home office for the foreseeable future, and I’ll use that time to spend some time with friends and family back in Switzerland. Sources say that they’re super nice people.
In other news, I turned Kreidenwerk into an actual company to develop Legion Hearts in an official capacity. Not sure what that means for this blog just yet, but I’m just really glad that Kreidenwerk is finally a thing.
